This policy explains how Surplus collects, uses, and protects information submitted through LiveInSurplus.com, its waitlist, checkout, and member dashboard.
Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, waitlist responses, membership status, onboarding choices, course progress, goals, referral activity, and basic website events such as page views or button clicks. Stripe handles payment card details; Surplus does not store full card numbers.
How we use it
- To save and manage your place on the Surplus waitlist.
- To send your signup confirmation, launch announcements, and relevant Surplus updates.
- To understand what future members want Surplus to teach and provide.
- To prevent spam, fraud, and misuse of the website.
- To provide member access, save course progress, and personalize your dashboard.
- To attribute eligible referrals and account credits.
- To understand which pages and features are useful without selling your personal information.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to operate Surplus, including Render for hosting, Supabase for database storage and authentication records, Resend for email delivery, and Stripe for checkout and subscription billing. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.
Retention and security
We retain information while it is needed to provide Surplus, satisfy legal or accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Cookies and local storage
Surplus uses an essential secure session cookie for member sign-in. We may also use browser storage to remember referral attribution and an anonymous analytics session identifier. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe option included in those messages. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete eligible personal information. Some billing or transaction records may need to be retained where required by law.
